My name is Christy and this blog is dedicated to following my journey as I attempt to get my body and my mind to a healthier state of being. For the last decade trying to get and stay healthy has been an uphill battle for me that finally culminated with a heart attack and a double bypass at the ripe old age of forty one. For the first year after my surgery I did great. I lost twenty eight pounds, my blood pressure was under control, I cut salt and most processed food from my diet. I started to exercise regularly. My check up appointment with the cardiologist went great. He was happy with my labs and congratulated me on being a good patient.
Then over the following six months I did what I always do once something is working. I stopped doing the things that had made me successful. I didn’t pay nearly as much attention to what I was eating and I all but stopped exercising. One might think I learned a valuable lesson about my health from my heart attack and open heart surgery, I did and yet I didn’t. My next appointment didn’t go so well. My cardiologist was upset with me. I had gained back ten pounds and my labs weren’t that great. He contemplated adding a medication. I managed to talk him out of it by swearing that I would get the wieght back off, fix my diet, and start exercising again. That was four and a half months ago. The first three months flew by, I barely made any of the promised changes. Then I got a letter in the mail reminding me that I needed to make my check up appointment with my cardiologist. My appointment is scheduled for late February so I have a little over a month to get my ass in gear. So here I am blogging with the hopes that the blog will help hold me accountable for making the changes that I need to, to topple my Goliath, my health. I have joined Planet Fitness to work out and this past week James (my hubby) and I taste tested a number of Keto friendly meals. We start the Keto two week challenge this upcoming Sunday and right now the plan is to stay on Keto until my BMI is back within a healthy range. This will require that I lose 46 pounds from my current weight of 191 pounds. I need to weigh between 145-150 pounds. My doctors have agreed that going on the KETO diet is the best thing for me, so here we go wish us luck!

I think this is great! I love this idea of holding yourself accountable, I think that is always my biggest downfall. I cant wait to see what your journey brings along the way. We believe in you! ☺ Good luck! Love you 💕
